A family-friendly protest march to the University of Kent
Date: Saturday 25th May
Start: 2pm in Dane John Gardens
End: 4pm at the Registry, Darwin Road, UoK
We will deliver a letter to the University’s management, urging them not to continue plans for a massive housing development in The Blean.
2,000 houses, shops and offices (a new town) would destroy ancient woodland, the Sarre Penn Valley, the Crab & Winkle Way, and three separate villages. It would also permanently sever the Blean Woodland Complex.
The proposal goes against all of the University’s stated objectives around community, sustainability and biodiversity.
Come and join the march! Bring your family and friends – we’ll have music, bubbles, stickers and songs. A fun afternoon with a serious message: No to 2,000 houses. Save The Blean.
